PGK Art: Jim Thorpe, Pa. — formerly known as Mauch Chunk (an Indian name meaning “bear mountain”), is a stunning town that still retains many of its historical buildings and is deep in the valley of the Lehigh River. In the 1900s it was the second favorite tourist center in the USA after Niagara Falls and was known as the Switzerland of America.
