Rainbow Orchids Vanda Vanda is one of the few orchid genera that come in all colors of the rainbow, even blue, a very rare and desirable color. There are about 45 Vanda species that grow as epiphytes in tropical rain forests ranging from India, Southeast Asia, and Indonesia to the Philippines and New Guinea. Vands can be hard to gow at home because they like hot, steamy conditions with plenty of light and water.
