Kelly, our hero! Paraphrase: I was downstairs cooking for Eater; Mark was upstairs fixing/painting the room for our baby. Suddenly, I heard a crash, and thought that he dropped a lamp – so I went to the staircase and called out to him. After my second attempt to communicate, I heard him asking me to come up and help him. When I made it upstairs, I saw Mark with both his arms cut and bleeding profusely, with blood all over the place [we were painting the room, but red was not the color we chose]. The window was broken. I was holding a piece of cheese, which I threw down immediately, and got some towels to bandage him up. It did not appear that an artery was cut – I was trying to assess if he was going to bleed out, or if we could get him to the hospital. We quickly went downstairs, and I drove him to the hospital (10 minutes), dropped him off by the emergency door, and then went to park the car. When I came in a few minutes later, he was already being treated.
