Dear William (and Daniel, Catherine, Michael & Baby Girl Y) (and your parents), (and any future descendants and their parents),
I already told you a bit about Auschwitz — another important (and horrible) location is Dachau, physically located in southern Germany.
My Father was a prisoner at Dachau, until he was liberated by the U.S. Army on 29 April 1945.
Here is the information I was able to gather about that:

As I understand it, before he was arrested for trying to escape into Switzerland through the German Alps, to then join-up with the Polish military forces in Europe, my Father had rented a room in a house on Henriciestr [Henricistr. / Henricistraße] Street in Dresden, Germany. After my Dad was arrested, he spent some time an a German jail, and then he was transferred to Dachau, a concentration camp.
I believe that this is a photograph of his landlords in Dresden:
My Dad’s German landlords were very kind to him, and sent my Dad packages of food while he was in prison.
Here are some photos that I took at the Dachau Camp museum, when I visited it in July 1969:
William, remember — forgive, but do not forget.
Love,
Dziadziuś Paweł.
