11/24/2012 (Pierniki Day):
- Preparations for the annual baking of Pierniki; this year, at Hania’s & Lee’s house
- Ingredients
- Sprinkles & decorations
- Pierniki recipe, from Babcia Krysia’s cookbook. This recipe was received from Pra-Babcia Irene Kostro, who invented the recipe in Argentina, based on her memory of what she and her sister baked years earlier in Poland.
- The organizing committee, hard at work
- Machinery
- Choosing cookie cutters for this year’s Pierniki
- Rollers, etc.
- Pre-work breakfast
- And so it begins — a grueling day, that starts at 8 am, and will not end ’till about 9 pm (actually, this first batch was mixed the previous evening, so that baking could start immediately, as additional batches were mixed in the morning)

- These were NOT baked by, nor approved by the organizing committee; but, somehow, they got passed by quality control (see what happens when you let men bake Pierniki?!)
