Dear William (and Daniel, Catherine, Michael & Baby Girl Y) (and your parents), (and any future descendants and their parents),
Last night it was decided that you are to call me “Dziadziuś” — that it good. Dziadziuś is a diminutive form of dziadek (pronounced gah-Dek, with the “dz” sounding like the “g” in “genes”), which translates into English as grandfather. William — note that the “dz” sound in Polish is always like the “g” in “genes”; or “j” (like in “jar”); and “ś” sounds like the “s” in “she.”
When you are asking a question of your Grandfather, you can say “Dziadziuśu” (pronounced gah-GOO-shoo). “Dziadek”, in the meantime, is used when speaking about a Grandfather; e.g., my Dziadek is very big.
Hey, William — I had a GREAT time with you and your Parents this 4th of July weekend. You, your Dad and I hang out together; you and I sung songs together; we paced the house together; I watched your Mom and Dad playing with you; Babcia Krysia also played with you — it was just the BEST!!! Thank You!
