Dear William, Daniel, Catherine, (and Michael & Baby Girl Y) (and your parents), (and any future descendants and their parents),
One of the wonders of the world is Stonehenge, a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England.
Stonehenge is a site where a collection of stones are found, organized in a circular pattern. One of its wonders is its apparent alignment of the stones with the sun during the summer solstice.
Based on the Stonehenge summer solstice phenomenon, people have noticed a somewhat similar biannual [biannual means occurring twice a year] phenomenon in New York City, that has become known as Manhattanhenge.

Babcia Krysia and I went to Manhattan on July 11, 2008 to experience this Manhattanhenge event. Although there are many places where it can be experienced, we chose 42nd Street, by 1st Avenue; actually, the overpass of Tudor City Place. From there, elevated over 42nd Street, you have a wonderful view (looking West, towards the Hudson River and New Jersey; away from Brooklyn and the East River and the United Nations), of the setting sun.
When we arrived, there was a crowd if people that already preceded us, all eagerly anticipating the event.
When the time of the setting sun came, cameras were snapping all around us. We even took pictures of other people’s cameras taking pictures of the setting sun.
I did manage to get a picture of my own of the Manhattanhenge setting sun.
I do hope that you get a chance to experience this Manhattanhenge phenomenon; and even better, the real thing, to visit Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England.
It is YOUR life; make it happen!
Love,
Dziadziuś Paweł.
